HLA-based MDO framework: An integrated optimization framework for complex product design

Complex products are integrated by many subsystems through complex couplings. Most subsystems come from many different disciplines such as dynamics, control or thermodynamics. In order to Study the behavior of complex products, multidisciplinary collaboration simulation is established by High Level Architecture (HLA). In order to get the best solution, Multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) is developed to improve the performance of complex products. This paper proposed a collaboration simulation optimization platform to integrate the function of collaboration simulation based on HLA and MDO framework. This platform includes domain modeling and simulation module, MDO functional module and HLA/RTI architecture. It can improve the design efficiency and reduce the cost of design system.
