Abstract
Purpose: to analyze the efficacy and complications of viscoelastic treatment after filtering surgery shallow anterior chamber. Methods: 12 patients, mean age 69.3+/-6 with post-trabeculectomy axially shallow anterior chamber in Primary Glaucoma underwent treatment with viscoelastic injection into the anterior chamber. Results: Deepening of the anterior chamber was achieved in 67% with one injection and in 33% with repeated injections of viscoelastic substance. Main complications of this procedure were a tendency to IOP elevation and cataract development in 2 eyes. Conclusions: Postoperative shallow anterior chamber could be treated successfully with injections of viscoelastic substance into it. Main complications of this procedure were a tendency to IOP elevation and cataract development in single cases.
