Abstract
With the objective to study the blood values for wild opossums (Didelphis albiventris) were caught 33 animals (21 males and 12 females) in Refugio Ecologic Charles Darwin, in the district of Igarassu, Pernambuco. The catch was made using baited traps and the samples was obtained by jugular vein punction. Were analyzed the values of hemograrn, platelets, reticulocytes, plasma proteins and fibrinogen. The cells counting was made by hemocytometer method and the plasma protein and fibrinogen using a manual refractometer. To observe difference between males and females, the values were submitted to Student test (p > 0,05) and Mann-Whitney test. The values founded were: Erythrocytes (4,22 0,63 x 10(6)/mm(3)), Hemoglobin (10,97 +/- 1,46 g/dl), Hematocrit (34 +/- 4,32 %), Mean corpuscular volume-MCV (80,88 +/- 3,81 fl), Mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration-MCHC (32,16 +/- 0,64 %), Platelets (314,38 +/- 49,26 x 10(3)/mm(3)), Plasma protein (6,72 +/- 0,66 g/dl), Fibrinogen (238,10 +/- 86,46 mg/dl), Reticulocytes (2,12 +/- 0,28), Leukocytes (16,75 +/- 2,06 x 10(6)/mm(3)), Band cell (0,14 +/- 0,36 %), Mature neutrophils (45,57 +/- 7,68 %), Eosinophils (3,43 +/- 2,11 %), Basophils (0,29 +/- 0,46 %), Lumphocytes (48,95 +/- 8,50 %), Monocytes (1,76 +/- 0,94 %) e Neutrophil-Lymphocyte ratio (0,99 +/- 0,35). There was not statistical difference between genders, in any parameter. The results in this study aim to show hematological values for wild opossums (Didelphis albiventris Lund 1841) from Igarassu district, Pernambuco.
