摘要
In this study, we analyzed the effect of the calcium ion inhibitor Vera Pammy on early healing strength after initial repair of peripheral nerve injury. Ninety-six Wistar rats were randomly divided into experimental and control groups, with 48 rats in each group. We performed end-to-end suture by transecting the left sciatic nerve with 11-0 noninvasive nylon. An absorbable gelatin sponge with Vera Pammy solution was placed around the nerve anastomotic stoma in the experimental group, whereas an absorbable gelatin sponge of normal saline was used in the control group. Both groups were examined at 3, 7, 14, 21, 28, and 42 days postoperatively to measure the maximum load and power consumption during the nerve rupture and to obtain the neural load-denaturation curve. We found that neural healing strength curves exhibited viscoelastic properties. The maximum tensile strength and power consumption of both groups differed significantly at 7, 14, 21, and 28 days postoperatively. No significant difference was observed at 3 and 42 days postoperatively. Thus, we concluded that the calcium ion inhibitor Vera Pammy reduced the neural healing strength from the first to the fourth week, but had no significant effect on nerve healing strength after 4 weeks.
