Abstract
Starch microspheres of pomegranate peel polyphenols were prepared by absorption method. With the encapsulation efficiency as indicator, the preparation technology of starch microspheres was optimized by single factor test and central composite design. The optimized preparation conditions were as follows: the amount of epichlorohydrin was 0.12 mL, the ratio of drug to material was 1:10, stirring speed was 600 rpm, temperature was 40 degrees C, emulsification time was 2 h, the oil-water ratio was 10.4, emulsifier amount was 10.5%, curing time was 8.8 h, and the mean encapsulation efficiency of polyphenols was 79.47%. The prepared microspheres were regular and the mean particle size was 9579 pm. The prepared microspheres exhibited certain sustained-release characteristics and were completely released.
