摘要
In never-smoking young patients with primary lung squamous cell carcinoma, pulmonary nuclear protein in testis (NUT) should be considered and excluded. These cases should be assessed for the presence of atypical oncogenes or other rare phenotypes with new opportunities for therapy. The prolonged control of this patient's pulmonary NUT to immunotherapy warrants further investigation of immune checkpoint inhibitors in this histologic group. In young patients without a clear smoking history, the availability of complex genomic testing platforms are paramount to further understanding disease biology and enabling personalized medicine.
