Abstract
Germany is home to a heterogenous population of immigrants from over 150 different countries. Roughly, one out of three children in German schools belongs to a family in which one or both parents were born outside of Germany. In this context, teachers and their cultural beliefs play a special role in the education and upbringing of children in these situations. This is why especially the beliefs of teachers have become the focus of various research efforts in Germany over the past 20 years. The present article follows an integrative review approach to identify key studies and their research foci. Results for the status quo are presented for the four identified research foci. Taking into account an international perspective, research desiderata are discussed.
