COLLOID-STRUCTURAL PROPERTIES OF COMPOSITIONS ON THE BASIS OF AMINES OF ALIPHATIC SERIES AND FATTY ACIDS

The colloidal-structural properties of compositions based on isopropyl alcohol / water-alcohol solutions of soybean fatty acids and a number of aliphatic amines were investigated using a combination of dynamic light scattering (DLS), ultraviolet / visible (UV/Vis) and infrared Fourier (FTIR) spectroscopy methods. It was shown that DLS spectra are characteristic for micellar solutions containing simultaneously spherical and non-spherical micelles. An increase in the diffusion coefficient with decreasing length of the alkyl chain and the formation of non-spherical micelles with an increasing degree of asymmetry for systems with an amine with a large hydrocarbon radical have been established. A characteristic feature of all the studied compounds, is a sharp decrease in the diffusion coefficient in the region of the first critical micelle concentration and its increase after passing through a minimum. It was shown that the UV spectra of aqueous solutions of the studied compositions are characterized by the presence of at least two absorption bands in the range of 220-320 nm and the dependence of the optical density on the concentration of acid and amines for the observed bands is nonlinear at concentrations above 10(-3) M. The observed picture due to the formation of associated structures with an increase in the concentration of the used amines. The dependence of the diffusion coefficient, particle size, optical density and the changes in the spectral pictures as a function of the composition of the prepared systems is discussed
