摘要
In recent censuses of the nocturnal lemur population of a riverine forest and the Didiereaceae bush of the South of Madagascar, we did not find significant differences with the results obtained, with similar methods, 27 years earlier. Whereas Microcebus murinus still exhibits a very low biomass in some parts of the bush, the extremely high biomass of Lepilemur leucopus (circa 800 animals per square kilometre) can be explained by its peculiar adaptation to leaf eating. The stability of the nocturnal lemur popultation in areas frequently visited by tourists shows that opening animal reserves with adequate protection does not affect the equilibrium of plant and animal species.
