Abstract
The enhancements of properties of the BiFeO3 films represent a great challenge especially in choosing new preparation routes to create novel devices that can display magnetic and ferroelectric properties. Thus, a simple low-temperature synthesis method of preparing bismuth ferrite thin films through a wet chemical route, using nitrates of bismuth and iron and two chelating agents (citric acid and polyvinyl alcohol) was employed. The films were successively deposited on different type of substrates (stainless steel and sintered alumina) using the immersion technique. The influence of chelate agent and nature of substrates on the mechanism formation of BiFeO3 is underlined.
