Abstract
Superelastic behavior and deformation process of a near beta Ti-3Zr-2Sn-3Mo-25Nb alloy sheet under different heat treatments were investigated. The results show that the alloy has a certain superelasticity after the solution treatment and aging treatment, which is the best after solution treatment above the phase transition temperature, and at the same time the maximum volume fiction of the stress induced martensite is observed. But both the precipitated omega phase and the fine alpha phase after solution treatment and aging treatment hinder the formation of the stress induced martensite, decreasing the elasticity and the plasticity. It is also found that the proper predeformation on the sheets could improve superelasticityof the alloy.
