Hydrazones of 3-hydroxy-5-androsten-17-one as protective synthons for indirect iodination of ketosteroids

Th ree hydrazones of the ketosteroid dehydroepiandrosterone have been synthesized by the condensation of this hormone with three aryl acid hydrazides: Once these derivatives become radioiodinated then they could be used in the development of both qualitative and quantitative analysis of this ketosteroid in plasma and urine samples.
