Non-Convulsive Status Epilepticus in the Presence of Catatonia: A Clinically Focused Review

•Non-convulsive status epilepticus (NCSE) may present with catatonic symptoms.•Comprehensive diagnostic work-up should be completed for new onset catatonic symptoms.•There are several factors, detailed in the article, that raise suspicion for NCSE in the setting of new catatonic symptoms.•In setting of suspicion for NCSE with negative spot EEG, continuous and/or invasive EEG monitoring should be considered.
