Synthesis, Characterization, and Antimycobacterial Activity of Novel Thymol- Triazole Hybrids

Thymol is a naturally occurring phenolic compound showing various biological activities. A library of novel thymol-triazole hybrids was synthesized and evaluated for their inhibitory activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M.tb), the causative agent of TB. Most of the compounds were found to be active against M.tb H37Rv at 50 mu g/mL concentration. These identified compounds have promise to be further optimized into more potent inhibitors against M. tb.
