Abstract
The effect of Laves phase on the kinetic parameters of hydrogenation and dehydrogenation processes of the Ti-Fe-Mn heteroalloys is investigated. As revealed, the absorption of hydrogen starts with hydrogenation of the lambda-phase. As shown, the presence of Ti(Fe,Mn)(2-y) phase in the alloy increases the hydrogenation rate by one order and reduces the temperature, at which the absorption starts, by 50 degrees C. The presence of manganese in the intermetallic TiFe2 allows obtaining the Ti(Fe,Mn)(2-y)H2-x hydride under physicochemical conditions of hydrogenation of the intermetallic TiFe compound.
