Pseudoxanthoma elasticum - a casuistic

We report on a 39-year old man with Pseudoxanthoma elasticum. Pseudoxanthoma elasticum is a rare autosomal-dominant inherited connective tissue disorder with cutaneous, ocular and vascular symptoms. The incidence is about 1:160,000. 60-70% visual dysfunctions are a major primary symptom. Therefore the patients primarily consult the ophthalmologist. The internal involvement is particular of prognostic importance.
