RESEARCH ON MEASUREMENT OF GINGIVAL COLOUR CHROMA

In the early study and measurement of the gingival colour, due to the different measurement, different test area and different colour space, there is no uniform system of the gingival colour. Currently, there are two main devices available: colourimeter and spectrophotometer, which are used in the measurement of the gingival colour. Comparing to the colourimeter, the spectrophotometer has the advantage of greater repeatability and practicability with a fiber in the input. In this paper, the method is based the standard spectacular and CIE 1976 LAB symmetrical colour space, aiming at providing precise data on the gingival colour for the Chinese people. Also, the paper is based on a set of statistics to get the image of the gingival colour.
