摘要
•Bovine intestinal epithelial cells (BIECs) were characterized for lectin binding.•Immortalized BIECs showed changes in the binding profiles of many lectins.•Salmonella Dublin and S. Mbandaka showed strong invasion in BIEC-c4 cells.•BIEC-c4 cells were permissive to bovine rotavirus but lacked virus replication.•LPS stimulation of BIECs upregulated IL-6, IL-8, and IL-10 gene expression.
