Abstract
Canine ameloblastic fibro-odontoma in a male Kooikerhondje - clinical diagnostics and therapy with current nomenclature of odontogenic tumours Odontogenic tumours are a heterogenic group of tumours of the oral cavity. Their biological behaviour ranges from true hamartomas to highly malignant tumours. We describe a case of a seven-month-old male Kooikerhondje with a 3 x 2 x 1.5-cm mass in the right upper jaw. Biopsy and histological examination classified the tumour as an a meloblastic fibro-odontoma, which is a very rare neoplasm of odontogenic origin. This case report describes the clinical presentation, diagnosis, surgical management and clinical follow-up by computed tomography. The case report is further used to discuss the new WHO classification of odontogenic tumours.
