The treatment of the Spanish press to the political crisis in Brazil: the impeachment of Dilma Rousseff in the newspapers El Pais y El Mundo

This study pretends to analyze the coverage and the discourse that the Spanish press made about the process of impeachment to the Brazilian ex-president Dilma Rousseff between May and September of 2016. To do that, it has been analyzed all the information published by two Spanish newspapers, El Pais and El Mundo, with different ideology. Through the methodological approach of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), a number semantic fields to understand the treatment of the Brazilian crisis. The results show that, even though there is no explicit support to Rousseff and to the left-wing, there is some tendency to back them, specially El Pais.
