Abstract
The degradation characteristic of micro-organisms in the aerobic granular sludge system is different from that in the aerobic granular sludge system or anaerobic granular sludge system. At the beginning, the concentration of inflow water keeps the COD influent concentration in the end of cultivation of anaerobic granular sludge: 3418mg / L stably, the volume load of reactor : 33.4kgCOD/(m3.d), HRT : 7h, the main flow velocity of water : 2L/h, back-flow influent velocity : 0.6L /h, the concentration of dissolved oxygen in refluent tank : 0.3 similar to 0.5mg/L. The influent pH after 37 days, pH of influent is controlled 6.5 above. The COD removal rate, the reducing of HRT takes 0.5h space; when the COD removal ratio is stable, the improving velocity of back-flow water takes 0.2L/h space and HRT keeps 7h. When the influent organic load upgraded 385.7 g COD / d eventually after 8 times improvement, the experimentation is accomplished, at the same time, the HRT reached 5h, the refluent flux was 1.4L/h and removal rate of COD was 84.7%. It is also found that the anaerobic granular sludge disintegrated seriously in the test, particle size showed a narrowing trend and a large number of fragments fell and suspended in reactor. As a result, the SS concentration of out-flow water fluctuated largely throughout the experimentation. (C) 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
