Metal-Free Synthesis of the Functionalized Quinoxalines via alpha-Aminocarbonyl Compounds with o-Phenylenediamine

An expeditious one-pot, metal-free multicomponent synthesis of quinoxalines has been developed, from easily available starting materials as alpha-aminocarbonyl compounds and o-phenylenediamine instead of complex catalyst systems. The reaction has a broad substrate scope and displays excellent functional-group tolerance. This method could be easily applied to many fields.
