Abstract
In the presented study the exact conditions for preparation of layered double hydroxides by mechanochemical activation method were investigated. There were clarified the number of grinding balls, the weights of precursors, milling time, etc. All the synthesised samples and precursors were tested by a number of physicochemical methods - X-ray diffraction, the Moessbauer spectroscopy and DTA/TG analysis, in order to obtain their chemical and phase composition, dispersity and thermal decomposition temperatures. The obtained data show that mechanochemical treatment of the initial compounds Mg(OH)(2) and FeCl3 results in the synthesis of the studied LDH compound - iron-magnesium hydroxide chloride. The thermal treatment of this compound shows the formation of products containing iron and magnesium-containing oxide phases.
