PATHWAYS LEADING TO MENTAL HEALTH PHENOTYPES AND THEIR TREATMENTS: INSIGHTS FROM NEUROGENETIC SYNDROMES

We wish to introduce to the audience the clinical and brain phenotype of 4 relatively common neurogenetic syndromes: 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (22q11.2DS), Williams syndrome, Noonan syndrome (RASopathies), and fragile X syndrome. We will utilize a neurogenetic model approach for understanding biological and environmental factors leading to psychosis (22q11.2DS), ADHD (Noonan syndrome), and autism spectrum disorder (fragile X). We will also present pathophysiological as well as empirical treatments for common mental health disorders and symptoms such as ADHD, challenging behaviors, and psychosis.
