DIN SPEC 92000 as enabler for Plug and Produce Comparison of requirements and assurance of device properties through property value statements

Current research is trying to transfer the Plug and Play concept known from information technology to automation technology, where it is called Plug and Produce. An important step of the concept is the comparison between requirements and assurances of the device properties. This article shows how the property value statements introduced in DIN SPEC 92000 can be used for this purpose. The use of these statements is demonstrated for two use cases, namely commissioning and device replacement, and an associated technical implementation.
