A High-gain Circular Polarized Microstrip Slot Coupling Antenna for Satellite Communication

A 2x2 high-gain left-hand circular polarized microstrip slot coupling array antenna is presented, which is applied at 1.98GHz-2.2GHz, which is one of the frequencies of satellite mobile communication system. According to the simulation results, the antenna is found to have an excellent performance within the wideband range from 1.9GHz-2.25GHz. The VSWR is less than 1.5 and circular polarized axial ratio is less than 3dB. The gain of antenna is greater than 13.3 dBi at 1.98GHz-2.2GHz frequency bands. The antenna has an excellent electrical performance, a simple and reliable structure, low manufacturing cost characteristics, could also be applied in satellite mobile communication system.
