Abstract
1717 Objectives Symptoms due to autonomic dysfunction are frequently seen in Parkinson’s disease patients. To our knowledge, the functions of the gallbladder in Parkinson disease patients have not been evaluated yet. We aimed to evaluate gallbladder function in patients with Parkinson’s disease by using cholescintigraphy and compare it with that of healthy volunteers. Methods We included 30 subjects with Parkinson’s disease as patient group and 13 healthy volunteers as control group. Dynamic images were obtained after i.v. injection of 3-5 mCi Mebrofenin. When the gallbladder was visualized standard liquid test meal was given and dynamic imaging was continued. Gallbladder visualization time, filling time, gallbladder ejection fraction, ejection period, ejection rate and t ½ maximum values were calculated. Results We determined slowdown in gallbladder visualization and filling time, extension in gallbladder ejection period and decrease in ejection fraction and t ½ maximum in Parkinson patients compared to the control group. We didn’t determine significant difference in gallbladder ejection fraction values between the patient and control groups (Table1). Conclusions The functions of the gallbladder may be deteriorated in Parkinson’s disease patients. Hepatobiliary scintigraphy may be usefull for evaluating the gallbladder functions in this group of patients.\nKey words: Parkinson’s disease, gallbladder functions, cholescintigraphy.
