摘要
1283 Objectives: The usefulness of PET/CT in patients is well known. In addition, studies on the usefulness of PET/CT for healthy examinees have been conducted to some extent. Therefore, we investigated the usefulness of PET/CT for healthy examinees through cancer patients enrolled in Korea Central Cancer Registry (KCCR). 2. Methods: The subjects were 236 cancer patients who were registered at KCCR within one year after PET/CT examination was performed between 2010 and 2014 at the Total Healthcare Center of Kangbuk Samsung Hospital. They were grouped by age and analyzed by which methods the cancer was diagnosed. 3. Results: Among 236 cancer patients, 88 were positive for PET/CT only, but negative for other tests. On the other hand, there were 43 patients who were not diagnosed as having PET/CT while other modalities revealed possible findings for cancer. In 16 patients, all the exams failed to find positive findings for malignancy. 4. Conclusions: It is expected that PET/CT can play a role in health checkups such as cancer diagnosis. Since PET/CT, which recently has been reduced radiation exposure, has become available, it has become more likely to be used for health promotion. In the future, if only high price problems are solved, more use may be possible.
