摘要
Purpose: To explore the discrepancies of magnetoencephalography (MEG) power spectrum between glioma patients and healthy people in resting state. Patients and methods: Whole-head MEG signals were acquired in 18 glioma patients and 23 healthy controls in resting state with eyes closed. Relative power was calculated with Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT) in delta (0.5-4 Hz), theta (4-8 Hz), lower alpha (8-10 Hz), upper alpha (10-13 Hz), beta (13-30 Hz) and gamma (30-49.5 Hz) frequency bands. Discrepancies between groups were obtained by two sample t-test using SPSS 23.0. Results: In comparison with healthy controls, glioma patients presented a slowing of brain activity. In the upper alpha frequency band, there is a significant decrease of relative power in the left central, bilateral parietal, bilateral occipital and bilateral temporallobes. Moreover, the increasement of theta power spectrum was found in the left parietal lobe, and of delta power spectrum increasing in the bilateral parietal and occipital lobes. Conclusion: These results indicate that MEG spectral analysis in glioma can extract spectral patterns specific to the disease, provide insights into how glioma affects brain activity, and hold promise as early detection of glioma.
