•There are a number of challenges and facilitators to the provision of substance use disorder (SUD) treatment for pregnant and postpartum women during the COVID-19 pandemic.•Continuation of integrated care via telehealth is paramount to support pregnant and parenting patients with SUD, including services provided by trainee psychology students who serve as behavioral health support.•Unique adaptations to services must be made to maintain service provision level as well as education and training.•Future directions in telehealth can expand wrap around services for pregnant and parenting patients with SUD.
