Abstract
In this work we show a paper based ammonia sensor fabricated by simple wet route chemistry using perovskite halide, namely methyl ammonium lead iodide (MAPI). The paper sensor is capable of detecting ammonia gas by simple color change effect as well as by electrical read outs. The sensor has very fast response (similar to 10 sec for 10 ppm ammonia) as well as high selectivity towards ammonia gas. Being grown on paper; the sensor is flexible, as well as disposable; also simple solution growth technique makes fabrication process of paper sensor cost effective. Thus the paper sensor could be employed as low cost, portable sensor for rapid and selective detection of atmospheric ammonia as well as a new application of MAPI beyond photovoltaic.
