摘要
Reducing weight is a core area in development of next generation tank and armored vehicle because reducing weight enhances tactical maneuvering and fuel efficiency. A large portion of a vehicle's weight is occupied by weight of the armor. Thus, active protection system can efficiently reduce the total weight. However, it cannot counteract a warhead with high kinetic energy properly and it is not an efficient way to block a small caliber bullet less than 20 mm diameter. In this sense the lightweight armor is an essential part of protection system. In this paper, Ceramic, magnesium alloy and high performance fiber were used for multi-layered hybrid armor.
