•“Pink” and “broadband” beam operational modes are added at the SuperXAS beamline.•One-crystal multilayer Mo/Si monochromator is developed for the broadband beam mode.•Pink beam is optimal for time-resolved core-to-core XES of ≥1 mM diluted samples.•Broadband beam is optimal for valence-to-core XES avoiding additional KLβ satellites.
