摘要
The Forward Hadron Calorimeter (FHCal) is a modular lead-scintillator compensating calorimeter and consists of two identical parts placed at the left/right sides from the beam collision point. FHCal design is optimized for the measurements of the energy and space distributions of the projectile nuclei fragments (spectators) in the energy range of 1-5 GeV. The main task of such measurements is the determination of the centrality and the reaction plane orientation in heavy-ion collisions. In addition, FHCal will be used for the centrality trigger, especially to select the most peripheral collisions with the minimum energy deposition in calorimeter. As low as possible the energy threshold for FHCal is required for such a trigger. High light yield is requested to detect the protons and neutrons with low energies and to arrange the efficient centrality trigger.
