Abstract
Optical isolator waveguide devices were fabricated in bias-magnet-free iron garnet films. Slab waveguide devices exhibited isolation > 30 dB and losses ∼ 0.2 dB. Ridge waveguide devices exhibited > 25 dB isolation and loss < 2 dB. A reflection mode isolator concept was experimentally proven.
