Abstract
Venous thrombosis, including deep venous thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism, has an annual incidence of 1 per 1000 adults. Iliofemoral DVT is especially associated with increased risk of pulmonary embolism and post-thrombotic syndrome. Whereas early clot removal, facilitated by lysis and mechanical thrombectomy, has been shown to be effective for acute DVT, there is no promising endovascular treatment of the chronic component of DVT currently. We report on our experience with the novel ClotTriever device (Inari Medical, Irvine, Calif) in the extraction of acute and chronic DVT.
