Estimating transmission capacity with probabilistically shaped 64-QAM

Abstract
We discuss three different capacity estimation methods for transmission using probabilistically shaped modulation formats. We experimentally demonstrate ∼70 Tb/s transmission over 6,970 km using probabilistically shaped 64QAM with multi-stage nonlinear compensation and compare this result to capacity measurements using multi-dimensional coded modulation.
