Abstract
Venous thromboembolism is a common medical condition encountered in emergency departments and is a major contributor to global disease burden. It's often misdiagnosed in critically ill patients despite being common because of its non-specific features, and diagnosis a times is at autopsy. Hence, it's a masquerader that can mimic other cardiorespiratory diseases.
