Case report of paradichlorobenzene abuse that resulted in death
The Journal of Emergency Medicine(2020)
摘要
Background: Para-dichlorobenzene (PDCB) is a common ingredient found in mothballs, fumigants, insecticides, and bathroom deodorizers. Due to the ease of availability of this chemical, there is a risk for accidental or intentional poisoning. PDCB toxicity can affect multiple organs, including the central nervous system, the blood, the kidneys, and the lungs. Most unintentional exposures to PDCB-containing products occur in children and do not result in toxicity. According to the American Association of Poison Control Centers, there were no deaths or major toxicity associated with PDCB between 1995 and 2015.
