Using electromagnetic induction technology to identify atrazine leaching potential at field scale

•The study was carried out for silt loam, clay loam, silty clay loam and clay soils.•EMI is effective for identifying surface soil clay content at the field scale.•Cross-correlation shows atrazine transport parameter is strongly correlated with clay content, thus correlated with EMI.•HYDRUS 2D provides different atrazine movement simulations along the corn field.•Combining EMI with HYDRUS-2D provides atrazine spatial distribution helping the development of best management practices.
