House dust mites area worldwide major source of allergens, with Dermatophagoidespteronyssinus (Der p) being the most allergenicand frequently implicated in respiratory allergy. Determining the sources of exposure to Der p in infants may be particularly important in view of the accumulating evidence of an early life window of susceptibility for long-term risk of disease. Our data gathered in various regions of the world, revealedthat breastmilk is a source of oral exposure to mite allergens.
