Merkel Cell Carcinoma: Case Report and Literature Review

Merkel Cell Carcinoma is a rare type of aggressive and often fatal neuroendocrine tumor of the skin. We report a clinical case of a 56-year-old female with a Merkel cell carcinoma on the left hand, without distant metastasis, treated with surgical excision of the lesion and radiotherapy. Based on this clinical case a research and review of the literature on this rare neoplasia was carried out.
