Abstract
Female sexual dysfunction (FSD) is defined as persistent, recurrent problems with sexual desire, response, orgasm or pain, and is very common though under reported. It can be classified into four broad subtypes, viz, low sexual drive, sexual arousal disorder, orgasmic disorder and sexual pain disorder. India, traditionally a patriarchal society denies female sexual freedom and females hardly get any sexual education, thus paving a fertile path to FSD. The objectives of this study are : 1. To identify women with sexual dysfunction 2. To categorise the type of FSD 3. To provide holistic treatment to both partners Females self-reporting to the sexual dysfunction liaison clinic were evaluated and treatment was advised based on the type of FSD. Out of 350 patients with sexual dysfunction from October 2017 to September 2019 there were only 8 married females aged between 27 and 58 years. 4 reported low sexual drive, while 4 had sexual pain disorder. Dysthymia was diagnosed in 2 who were treated with psychotropics. All were counselled regarding their problem.
