Synthesis and Characterization of Calcium Carbonate on Three Kinds of Microbial Cells Templates

•Three types of microbial cells were used to control the crystallization of CaCO3.•Crystal types include calcite and vaterite, and the ratio of vaterite is higher.•Polyelectrolyte did not change the ratio of calcite to vaterite.•Microbial cell wall did affect the crystal form and morphology of CaCO3.
