Rapidly curable hyaluronic acid-catechol hydrogels inspired by scallops as tissue adhesives for hemostasis and wound healing

•A bio-based hydrogel inspired by the scallops is prepared.•The gelation time of the enzymatic crosslinked hydrogels decreased to a few seconds.•The hydrogel is an effective rapid hemostatic adhesive.•The hydrogel has promoting effect on skin wound repair in vivo.•The hydrogel has the potential to replace sutures.
