Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression and clinic significance of Oct4 and Sox2 in colorectal carcinoma. Methods A total of 120 patients with colorectal carcinoma were selected, and 30 cases of normal colon tissues archived in hospital and 80 cases of colorectal adenoma were selected as the control. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of Oct4 and Sox2 in normal colon tissues, colorectal carcinoma tissues and colorectal adenoma. And the relationships of Oct4 and Sox2 with pathologic phases, classification and relative clinical pathologic parameters of colorectal carcinoma were analyzed. Results The expression rates of Oct4 and Sox2 were 13.33% and 16.67% in normal colon tissues, 58.17% and 54.17% in colorectal carcinoma tissues, 78.75% and 75.00% in colorectal adenomas, respectively, the differences of Oct4 and Sox2 expression rate among the three kinds of tissues were significant (P 0.05). Conclusions Oct4 and Sox2 showed high level expression in colorectal carcinoma tissues, and was negatively or positively correlated with the pathologic phases, classification and degree of colorectal carcinoma closely. Key words: Oct4; Sox2; Colorectal carcinoma
