Abstract
•Cucumber intercropping with celery could prevent cucumber Fusarium wilt in an artificial environment.•Cucumber Fusarium wilt resistance induced by intercropping with celery differs from that induced by cucumber genotype.•Organosulfur compounds identified from the fresh root and rhizosphere soil of celery in cucumber/celery system.•Thioglycolic acid, propanethiol and isopropyl isothiocyanate exhibited inhibitory effects on F. oxysporum f. sp. cucumerinum.
