P053: Should the screening age be increased in view of increasing life expectancy in western population?

Introduction: Life expectancy in the Western world continues to increase, with Australian women expecting to survive to 84.6 years. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women. In Australia, screening mammography is offered every two years for asymptomatic women between 50 and 74. The aim of this study was to analyse the initial presentation of Australian women diagnosed with breast cancer over the age of 75 years.
