Abstract
•Wireworms are generalist herbivores that feed on crop tissues belowground.•Effects of entomopathogen community composition on wireworms are unknown.•We show that entomopathogens increased wireworm mortality and plant productivity.•Metarhizium brunneum consistently produced stronger effects than other species.•Positive effects of entomopathogen diversity were associated with species identity.
