Reducing the environmental impact of used lubricating oil through the production of fuels by pyrolysis

•Used lubricating oil (ULO) is harmful environmentally.•This research is accomplished to regenerate this waste.•This study aims to obtain diesel fuel and jet fuel from ULO via pyrolysis.•Elemental analyses of the produced fuel were applied.•The calorific value, the cloud point, and the freezing point of the produced fuel were evaluated.•The gases and coke were analyzed to evaluate the emissions and byproduct solids.•Production of fuel from ULO is a prospective environmental and economic solution.
